When Sandy's mother takes the job of looking after elderly Miss Cannon they go to live in her rambling old house.Sandy is used to moving and changing schools, but that doesn't make it any easier, especially when there's a bull in the class determined to make life difficult.
With plenty of time on her hands after school, Sandy starts exploring her new home and finds someone else roaming the dark passages and stairways - the girl her own age dressed in blue. But the girl always vanishes as suddenly as she appears, and nobody else sees her.
